I am so bad at this!

So blogging and Nicole do not seem to go hand in hand. For some reason this obsession people have with writing down all their thoughts does not fly with me. Look, I am a talker, not a writer, put me in a room with lots of people and I will have a story to tell. Does anyone even read these things anyway.

Ok, well if I did not really want to blog, why would I be on here now. Life is good, we are moving. We got the most amazing house in Fairfax. An architect built it and lives out of it and when we found it on Craigslist, the doors just kept opening wide. I sign the lease tomorrow and we move in on February 28th. It is 3500 square feet and it is a dream. If we were to build a house this one is excatly what it would look like. Complete with its own Coi pond!!

Brads 30th bday is coming up as well so frantically preparing for that. Having a big bash at SOTA and its a surprise..sshhhhh!

Things at work are going great and our Hawaii wedding was off the hook. We had such a great time and the weather was perfect.

Tibet? the most amazing experience I think that I will ever have. SO beautiful, so remote, so far removed from western civilization I can't even explain it. Difficult to breathe most of the time. We carried around portable oxygen tanks with us, but other than that it was a perfect trip. I hope that I get to experience another amazing place soon, man I love to travel!

A few more photos from Grand Manan!

I am my own worst nightmare!

Not Really, I actually find myself quite hilarious sometimes! hey at least I can laugh at myself.

So I am going to begin to post new weddings on this blog and we will see how that works out. I feel inspired by such blogs at www.bklynbride.blogspot.com Vane has so much ambition and heart when it comes to keeping up with it every day and researching all these exciting new products, good for her!

I am off to NYC in a couple of weeks to attend this years PDN Photo Expo. Not that I have ever had anything against tech heads in film vests talking shop, but I hope that it is a learning experience and not just a nerd fest! I say this with the utmost love and respect, becasue I too, am a nerd! I love looking at all the new camera equipment. It's funny, I was at Penn camera the other day picking up another Quantum and i was talking with the guys for 11/2 hours about the new D300 and D3, I am such a geek!

Anyway, Brad is at Fall retreat this weekend so I am alone. Friday night I am off to Andy Zipf's show www.andyzipf.com and then a wedding on Saturday and shooting for Ratner on Sunday, I have yet another full weekend.

Love to you all!!

Ode to Fall!

Ok so not really an ode, but I am so glad that fall is finally here! It has been unbearable photographing in this heat all summer and so I finally get to breathe again and not look like a sweaty pig every time at my events!

Brad and I are planning to go to the PDN Photo Expo this year, anyone else going to NYC? We have been wanting to go for a few years but always seemed to have to work that weekend, no this year! Still tring to decide which seminars we would like to go to, any suggestions?

We finally got a new bed, a memory foam called "Healthy Foundations" http://www.healthyfoundations.com/
No problems as of yet, will keep you posted, but it was half the price of the temper pedics, so hopefully!

luvluv!

Sea of Faces

Project that I am working on in Canada...comments?

Wow I am bad at this!

So I have been swamped with work since we returned from the "Wedding of the Century"! Seriously, it is going to be really hard for other weddings to compare to Jeremy and Hayleys, what a wonderful time we all had!

My question is, we photograph 2-3 weddings a weekend, potentially have the opportunity to create FANTASTIC work, and for some reason, most of the time I feel like I could have done so much better. Our clients say they want something creative and unique, but when it boils down to it, they don't want to spend the money and they don't give us the time to get the shots. Now don't get me wrong, we have had some awesome weddings with great people, but I hope that our work has the opportunity to go further. That future clients will recognize how important it is and how much fun they can have if they just allow us to go nuts;) I want to create outstanding images for my clients. I want them to loose their breathe when they see the work!

So I will try to keep up with this thing, and promise I will post exerts from my "exciting life;)"

Yes, I did it and it hurt like hell, but I love them and can't wait for another. This chick named Rachel from PURE Tattoo in West Hollywood gave me my ink, she was very gentle;) It hurts, i won't lie, lie bees stinging you over and over, but then it's done and you feel exhilerated. I think I am going to get another, on my back next time, not sure what yet but you can be sure I will go back to LA and have it done. Maybe by Kat Von Dee;)
